Great from the website to the store, and through delivery. Sales staff were helpful in finding the right mattress. They communicated in a timely manner throughout. We feel we have a quality locally made mattress that is very comfortable and supportive of backs.
After a number of disappointing experiences shopping for a mattress, we went to Portland Mattress Makers in Andover at the suggestion of a friend. What a find!! Bonnie (the store manager) may be the best salesperson we have ever encountered. Her product knowledge is incredible and she worked extremely hard to make sure we were buying the right product. The company itself is also a great story - family owned, all manufacturing done in Maine, and a real focus ensuring customers are really happy with their purchase. If you are shopping for a mattress, do yourself a favor and visit Portland Mattress!

I recently ordered a custom boat mattress for my Tiara 3300. The V-berth is "L" shaped and had a piece of hand cut memory foam in place. I was skeptical on how well a new custom mattress was going to fit until they sent me the pattern kit which included an angle gauge. The patterning was very simple and recording the angles gave me hope. The mattress fit perfectly, including the angled sides to conform to the hull. I really like the vapor barrier on the bottom as the humidity can get pretty high during the Summer. I also really like the fitted sheets, especially at the corner of the "L" shape. If it is not fitted, the sheets can't make that 90 degree turn and look very sloppy. They also sent my pattern to another company to have a custom cover/comforter made. The mattress is very comfortable, communication from PMM has been excellent and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a new, high quality mattress.Thank you!
Was a great experience from start to finish. Bonnie in the Andover store listened to our needs and recommended the best option for us without trying to upsell us. Delivery was quick. The delivery guys were great.The mattress is perfect. I am considering replacing the mattress on our other bed with Portland Mattress.

We are very happy with our experience picking out our mattress. From our salesperson Bonnie's knowledge of the mattresses to Alex our delivery person.We had picked out a firm mattress for our vacation home and after sleeping on it we decided it was too firm. I went to see Bonnie about changing the mattress. She was more than happy to change it. She worked with me to find the perfect mattress for my back issues. They came and swapped the mattresses and we love the new one.We will be recommending you to friends and family.
Everyone is so helpful. You can tell it’s a local operation. They answered so many questions of mine. They aren’t on commission so they really just care about your comfort letting you take time to purchase. So happy we found them right down the street from us 🙂
